Belief & the Shahada

Understand the declaration of faith before learning its wording. Questions are welcome as you explore what you believe.

Learn washing before prayer, then the prayer movements and words with a patient teacher. Practise one part at a time.

Begin with a short passage and its meaning. Our reader includes Arabic, English, pronunciation and audio.

Choose a beginner book or an audio lesson. Keep a note of anything you would like to ask about.

Learn the words you need for prayer gradually. Listen, repeat and ask someone knowledgeable to help with pronunciation.

Food, routines and relationships may bring new questions. Seek informed guidance that takes your circumstances into account.
